After demolishing the south end of the Central Library building, construction crews have started the noisy process of driving steel pilings into the ground to support the new wing of the Central Library. Work is happening inside the library, as well. The suspended ceilings are gone, revealing the clear-story windows atop the walls that will let much more natural light into the library’s interior. The Central Library Expansion and Improvement Project will continue through the winter and is expected to be finished in spring 2013.
