Getting Social at Your Library

Our Virtual Branch has a lot of fun stuff to offer you 24/7, including our social media sites and blogs–we’re on Twitter, Facebook, and now Pinterest!   Here’s a rundown of each:

At  Twitter, users are limited to just 140 characters, so it’s a great service if you just want quick updates about library happenings and news.  You don’t need an account to see our Twitter feed, so if you want the info without the account, that’s no problem!  Of course, we’d love to have you ‘follow’ us, too–just look for us @mesacountylib

We have a lot of fun with our Facebook page and with more than 560 ‘likes’ and growing, it’s our most popular social media tool.  ‘Like’ us on Facebook to see photos from programs, direct links to our blog posts and lots more.  Don’t miss ‘Title Tuesdays’ where we have conversations about books we love and ask you to chime in.

A relative newbie on the social media scene, Pinterest has exploded with users and we understand why–the visual search makes it easy to find and ‘pin’ all kinds of awesomeness from around the web.  We like to use it to show off book covers and staff favorites, as well as some awesome DIY projects.  If you’re a visual person, you’ll LOVE Pinterest.   You don’t need an account to view Pinterest boards, but you’ll probably want one after you get a look . Warning:  Pinterest is highly, highly addictive.

We assume you know about our blogs because you’re reading one now!  But you might not have noticed the many different categories we have.  Beginning this December, we’re going to be blogging more than ever, so be sure to check back for awesome posts about crafts, books, movies, programs, and library news, including the Central Library renovation.

If you use RSS to subscribe to blog feeds, you can easily add us to your favorite feed reader on our RSS page.  You can even subscribe to our events list, so you’ll never miss another great program or class.  Not sure what RSS is?  See this past post!

You can find all of our Social Media links (and RSS) in the footer of our website.  Please Join Us!
