Great historical fiction

What Henry VIII wanted, he got.  In Wolf Hall, by Hilary Mantel, he wants to be rid of his aging wife, Katherine of Aragon, and marry  Anne Boleyn.  This novels centers around the machinations of Thomas Cromwell, Henry’s closest adviser and the mastermind behind the annulment that severed England from the Catholic Church.  Cromwell is portrayed as a self-educated man, a complex schemer, and a man extremely loyal to the king.  The characters are rich and appealing and this is a great choice for historical fiction fans.
