The Great Gandolfini

When news broke of James Gandolfini‘s untimely death on June 19th, the online outpouring from celebrities and fans alike, was immediate. 

Gandolfini is best known for his role on The Sopranos — arguably the finest series to ever grace a television screen.  The deeply complex Tony Soprano is certainly one of the greatest characters in TV history, earning his portrayer three Emmy awards. 

Working  for years as a character actor in films like True Romance and Get Shorty, Gandolfini became a household name after The Sopranos premiered on HBO in 1999,  altering the landscape of television.  He continued to work steadily in The MexicanWhere the Wild Things Are, Welcome to the Rileys, Killing Them Softly, Zero Dark Thirty, Not Fade Away, and many more.

This fierce actor and beloved human being will be greatly missed.
