The Friends of the Mesa County Libraries are accepting good-quality, gently read books for their upcoming sale. Donated items may be placed in the Friends Book Depository on the west side of the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. 5th St. across from Grand Junction High School.
The Friends are particularly interested in items suitable for holiday gifts, such as art books, cookbooks, children’s books, local history books, and fiction that has been published after 2010, as well as CDs and DVDs.
The book sale will take place from Monday, Dec. 2, through Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Central Library in Grand Junction
Friends of the Mesa County Libraries is a nonprofit organization that has provided support for programs at Mesa County Libraries for almost 50 years. Programs funded by the Friends include the Summer Reading Program; One Book, One Mesa County; Poetry Night; and Literacy. The Friends have provided funds for various projects at the Fruita and Palisade Branch Libraries and most recently pledged $100,000 for the expansion and improvement of the Central Library. The Friends organization conducts two major book sales each year and operates the Novel Idea Bookstore in the Central Library.
