Among the joys and hazards of my work are the lengthy lists of “books to read” and “movies to watch” that I create from being exposed to the information-rich library environment. To make a dent in my “books to read” list I’ve become an audiobook fanatic as I can listen to books while enjoying my other hobbies of cooking, hiking, and gardening. Audiobooks have the added entertainment value that comes from the reader’s passion, talent and interpretation.
My reading tastes can mainly be described as eclectic and fairly mainstream. I enjoy books about history, the Southwest, adventure, and health, but also read a lot of memoirs, humor, mysteries, and general fiction. I truly enjoy good writing of any genre. Since it’s hard to watch movies when the sun is up and the weather’s nice, I’ll be paring down my “movies to watch” list again this winter during the long cold nights.
