Etta and Otto and Russell and James

Etta and OttoYou know when you see something on Facebook that you really enjoy and you think you should mark in some way, but you don’t? Now I am sorry that I didn’t. A year or so ago a word floated around, a word to capture the feeling once you finish a book that you enjoyed so much you simply cannot start another book for quite some time. I need that word!

It took me days (weekend days! Friday night. Saturday. Sunday.) before I was able to give a new book a try. Emma Hooper’s Etta and Otto and Russell and James (both the book and the characters) immediately enthralled me. Warmed and enchanted by their story, I carried them with me for days, as we do with childhood favorites. Early in the story I knew I would be sad to leave them at the end; I was. It was definitely a quicker read than I wanted it to be.

(By the way, if you read this and know the word, please let me know.)
