Comic Con seeks presenters for workshops; deadline is Aug. 1

Do you have a special skill, talent, or insight to share with a Comic Con crowd?

Mesa County Libraries Comic Con is seeking applications from anyone who would like to present a public workshop at Comic Con on Saturday, Oct. 7. Workshops and presentations should be related to comics, sci-fi fantasy, and any and all things nerdy.

If you’re interested in presenting at Comic Con, proposals are due by Aug. 1, 2017, and can be submitted via an online form at mesacountylibraries.org/comiccon. All presentations and workshops should be one hour long.

In only its third year, Mesa County Libraries Comic Con has become one of the fastest growing events in the region. More than 3,000 people from across western Colorado attended last year’s Comic Con, and this year’s event will happen at Two Rivers Convention Center to accommodate the large number of expected attendees. The special guest for this year’s Comic Con is Ian Doescher, author of the brilliantly entertaining “William Shakespeare’s Star Wars” book series.

Mesa County Libraries Comic Con is scheduled for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction. It will be open to the public at no charge.

For more information about workshops and presentations, please contact Shana Wade at 970-243-4442.
