Greetings! I hope you enjoyed participating in Summer Reading this year, because we rocked it! I’m happy to state that nearly 5,000 people registered, and participants, who were 6 and older, read a staggering 28, 113 hours! Our youngest participants, ages 0 to 5, were read a total of 18,528 books this summer! Way to go, Mesa County! We are definitely building a better world.
Also, congratulations for Caprock Academy for winning our elementary school reading competition! Caprock students have won 4 years in a row for reading the most. They will be receiving a trophy and their school name will be engraved on our Summer Reading plaque in the Children’s Center at the Central Library.
I’d also like to give a shout out to everyone who completed all three levels of Summer Reading. Congratulations! If you completed the program you were eligible to win our awesome grand prizes.
