Get behind the camera while learning the fundamentals of videography in this hands-on course. In this class, you will learn how to properly capture video by controlling camera settings like focus, frame rate, white balance, and more. Participants will also get a chance to use the tools of the trade such as a video tripod and clapperboard. 970West Studio's Intro to Digital Photography is recommended prior to taking this class but is not required.

In this hands-on course learn the fundamentals of video editing using Adobe Premiere, a program included in the Adobe Creative Cloud. In this class you will learn how to import your video clips into the editor, edit clips inside the editor for improved playback, and export your video projects so you can share them to your favorite online video sharing websites.

This class is for the very beginning computer user. Skills taught include using the mouse and keyboard. Students will also learn about the various parts of the computer, the computer desktop, task bar, and start menu.

Learn about the fundamentals of modern sound recording. Discuss waveforms, proper gain staging, and converting audio signals from the analog to the digital domain and back! We will help you to understand sample rates and bit depth in digital recording. We will also examine microphone types, their frequency response, sensitivity, polar patterns, and common uses. Common cable types and connections are also covered.

Students should take this class after Computers for Beginners. Students will learn how to create, save, close, and re-open a file. Students will also learn about file management including My Computer, My Documents, and the Recycle Bin.

This hands-on class details the 970West Studio’s audio recording setup! Presonus’ Studio One digital audio workstation (DAW) software will be featured. Learn about the live room, control room and other 970West Studio components that are utilized to facilitate a recording session. Seating is limited and registration is required.

Google is much more than a search engine!  Learn about other free Google Tools like Google Maps, Google Calendar, Gmail and more. Before participating in this class, trainees should be able to use a mouse, follow a link, type an Internet address into the Address Bar, and type information into a Text Box.

Learn the methods used to remove a video’s background and replace it with a different image. Participants will learn the process of using a green screen, including the proper video capture and the post-production process known as chroma key. 970West Studio’s Fundamentals of Videography is recommended prior to taking this class but is not required.
