Eye Love Fruita Juried Art Show Call for Artists

The Eye Love Fruita Art Show celebrates our community and what makes it special! Artists are invited to submit artworks that explore our diverse community and its rich perspectives. All genres and styles of compatible 2D wall art are encouraged. We seek to tell the community’s story through the artist’s eyes. Abstract and realistic representations of life, values, and what makes Fruita so special are encouraged!

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Entry deadline: 8:00 am Friday, June 13. Entries will only be accepted online.
  • Show dates: July 3 to August 21, 2025
  • Artist notification via email: By June 24

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Exhibition is competitive and open to artists 14 years of age and older residing in Mesa County, Colorado.
  2. Two-dimensional fine art, including photography and computer-generated work, will be accepted (see AI statement below).
  3. Art must be ready for hanging and framed dimensions cannot exceed 30” x 42” or weigh more than 40 lbs. Work must be display-ready with a secure wire hanger and if subject to damage must be under glass or plexiglass.
  4. Artists may submit two entries by digital image for consideration.
  5. Juror will have final authority to define an acceptable entry.

LIABILITY

Mesa County Libraries assume no responsibility for the preservation or protection of any exhibit accepted for temporary display, or any liability for possible damage or theft of these items while in transit or on the library premises. All works accepted for temporary display are placed at the owner’s risk.

ENTRIES

Artists may submit 2 entries by digital image. An additional image of the submitted work to show detail or an alternative view is allowed. Art submitted must be appropriate for all ages.

DEADLINE

Entries will be accepted online until 8:00 am, Friday, June 13, 2025.

EXHIBITION

All accepted works will be on exhibit at the Fruita Branch Library from July 3 to August 21. The owner of the work must acknowledge and agree that the Library will not act as an agent for the owner. Artist contact information may be shown with prices.

HONORARIA

1st Place – $300
2nd Place – $200
3rd Place – $100

Mesa County Libraries defines AI-generated work as content created by software with minimal human direction. Therefore, MCL does not accept work produced by programs such as, but not limited to: Midjourney, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and ChatGPT. AI finishing processes in which the artist remains in control of the work will be considered. Participants must declare that their work is free from AI-generated content and that it is the result of the artist's human and controlled efforts. AI-generated work will be disqualified.
