- Springer and Elsevier eBooks through Prospector – The Colorado Alliance has an agreement with Springer and Elsevier allowing for Interlibrary Loan of their eBook collections (mostly textbooks):
- 21-day loan period
- 1 renewal
- Springer and Elsevier eBooks are downloadable as PDF files.
- Once patrons submit their requests and receive an indication that their holds were placed successfully, a representative of Mesa County Libraries will send you a link upon receiving it from the owning library.
- Placing Springer (and also Elsevier) eBooks on hold is very similar to placing holds on physical library materials – you will need to click the ‘Request It’ button and then log in.
- To find these eBooks, search for ‘Springer’ or ‘Elsevier’ and then then the subject, e.g. biology. Watch how-to video

- Kanopy – Kanopy makes it easy to watch some of the most critically acclaimed films ever made along with Great Courses options. Kanopy movies are available for any use including classroom lessons and public performances. Please note, a checkout registers after 5 seconds of play. View Kanopy guide.
- SILLVR (Streaming Interlibrary Loan Video Resources) movies through Prospector – to find these movies, search Prospector for SILLVR FOD to see the full list or try a keyword search for ‘SILLVR FOD’ and then the subject, e.g. ‘SILLVR FOD romance’. Watch how-to video.
- Once you find a movie you want, click the ‘Request It’ button and a representative of Mesa County Libraries will send you a link upon receiving it from the owning library. Do NOT click the streaming link in the item record–this will not work (note: ‘Swank’ videos are for academic libraries only). SILLVR fact sheet.
- 21-day loan period.
- After 21 days the video will expire.
- If you need additional time with the video they can re-request it through Prospector as renewals will not be allowed during the pilot program.

Digital Magazines and Newspapers
- Libby – Access thousands of magazines and back issues in the Libby app. View our Libby guide to get started.
- Newspaper Source Plus – full-text newspapers from around the U.S. and the World, including The Washington Post. Click ‘Publications’ at the top to find individual newspapers. NPR and other radio transcripts are also included. Please note, Grand Junction’s The Daily Sentinel does not participate in this database.
- New York Times – Get unlimited access to the latest articles, news, and multimedia from The New York Times. Includes access to articles from 1851 to present day. To re-activate access, re-visit the NYT Digital Access setup.
