Event Descriptions

Dog Ears: Join us as we introduce therapy dogs who love to hear stories. Choose a story and read to a registered therapy dog for 15 minutes. Space is limited and registration is required. Sign-up in person or by calling 970-243-4442. This program is available at the Central Library, Clifton Branch, Collbran Branch, Fruita Branch, and Orchard Mesa Branch.

Hora de cuentos (Spanish Story Time): Read, sing, and have fun en español with Ms. Melissa. Learn fun Spanish games, create amazing crafts, and listen to stories from Spanish speaking countries and other countries around the world. Also, learn about fun festivities around the world like día de los niños, día de los muertos and more. All kids and families wanting to learn Spanish or who already know Spanish are welcome.

kids club flyerKids Club: Kids and tweens (ages 6-11) are invited to drop-in and try an activity anytime between 2-4 pm, every Wednesday. Each Wednesday is filled with fun after school activities like games, crafts, art, movies, special performances, and more.

Kids Read! Choose your own book!: Join our kids new book club! Kids who participate get access to new chapter books before anyone else & get to share their opinions with major book publishers. Children under 11 must have an adult present.

LEGO ZONE: Kids can play with LEGOs at the library. After each child washes their hands, they can build several creative pieces. Each child can also choose one creation to go on a display case for a month. Everything is awesome at the LEGO ZONE!

Music Story Time: When words fade, music speaks. Music is life! Kids need music! Not only is music an irresistible way to support learning, it inspires families to frolic together. During music story time you will read, hear your favorite musical selections, sing songs, move your body, & sometimes play instruments with Ms. Sandra.
