You know when you see something on Facebook that you really enjoy and you think you should mark in some way, but you don’t? Now I am sorry that I didn’t. A year or so ago a word floated around, a word to capture the feeling once you finish a book that you enjoyed so much you simply cannot start another book for quite some time. I need that word!
It took me days (weekend days! Friday night. Saturday. Sunday.) before I was able to give a new book a try. Emma Hooper’s Etta and Otto and Russell and James (both the book and the characters) immediately enthralled me. Warmed and enchanted by their story, I carried them with me for days, as we do with childhood favorites. Early in the story I knew I would be sad to leave them at the end; I was. It was definitely a quicker read than I wanted it to be.
(By the way, if you read this and know the word, please let me know.)
