2024 marks the fifth year of the Recycled Books Art Show at Mesa County Libraries! In 2019, the Friends of the Mesa County Libraries organized, managed, and funded the initial art show featuring projects made by local creatives using recycled books. This well-loved annual display continues to showcase some of the intricate and amazing artwork from our community. From the fifty-four entries received this year, the library’s art committee selected thirty-seven pieces to be displayed at the Central Library from March 15 through May 9, 2024.
Among the many wonderful contributions they make towards the success of the library, the Friends of the Mesa County Libraries recognize the importance of supporting artists by providing the generous cash awards for multiple library art shows, including the Recycled Books Art Show.
We happily congratulate the following artists:
First place: $250 awarded to Mae Piña for What Color Is Freedom?
Second place: $200 awarded to Mary Sanchez for Escape
Third place: $175 to Marilyn Wilcox for I Contain Multitudes
