Help Mesa County Libraries and Catholic Outreach Spread Hope this Winter with our 16th year of the Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is turning 16 this year! We at Mesa County Libraries are so thankful for our long-standing partnership with Grand Valley Catholic Outreach as we continue to offer this unique winter giving opportunity.

Each year, Catholic Outreach gathers applications starting in October until mid November. All recipients of Giving Tree gifts are Catholic Outreach clients and Mesa County residents and they represent all ages, from newborns to seniors. Most requests are for winter gear, clothes, toys for children, or items that can bring just a little cheer for those who need it more than most. We help about 160 individuals find hope every year. This year the deadline to apply with Catholic Outreach to be a recipient is November 15th.

To spread winter cheer through the Giving Tree, stop by any of the participating Mesa County Libraries locations listed above and follow the steps below:

  • Select a tag that represents a gift wish.
  • Provide your information on the smaller portion of the tag and return it to library staff.
  • Purchase a NEW item, and return the gift UNWRAPPED with the tag attached to any library location by Monday, December 9th.

We can’t acknowledge 16 years of this heartfelt effort without thanking you, our community. Thank you for all that you have given and the hope you continue to spread.
