If you haven’t visited the Central Library in downtown Grand Junction lately, we invite you to stop by and see our new elevator!
The new elevator is noticeably larger than the 46-year-old workhorse that it replaced. The larger cab will more comfortably accommodate patrons who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices. In addition, it will more easily carry book carts between the library’s two floors.
The elevator closed last September for the extensive work required to remove the old elevator and modify the elevator shaft for the larger cab and more modern elevator equipment.
So far, patrons and staff have been happy with the new ride. Stop by and try it out!
