On July 26, the Fruita Branch Library hosted a reception for the Eye Love Fruita Art Show where juror Michelle Cools, artist and owner of The Vintage Common, announced the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
- 1st Place: Pavia Justinian – acrylic painting titled Red Rockin’ Nebulas
- 2nd Place: Devan Penniman – linoleum print titled Welcome Home
- 3rd Place: Melissa Cordova – acrylic painting titled Fruita Pool
Honoraria is generously provided by Friends of the Mesa County Libraries.
At the reception we were joined by local artist Carlee Burnett as she hosted a hands-on activity where attendees helped create a community mosaic that will be added to the permanent art collection at the Fruita Branch Library.
The Eye Love Fruita Art Show celebrates Fruita and what makes it so special through the artist’s vision. The show is currently on display until August 29, 2024.
