Subject Guides: A Treasure Trove of Information

The Mesa County Libraries website is sometimes referred to as our “virtual library.” Within its contents, you can find a huge range of resources ranging from recreational to educational, or both! Our goal is to assist library patrons in finding inspiration and information to meet their goals, whether in-person or online.

An excellent resource for virtual information seekers includes our plethora of Subject Guides, created and maintained by knowledgeable library staff. These guides are essentially mini-websites on a specific topic that help you access relevant information, resources, and support materials. A few specific Subject Guides include:

Art Resources: A resource aiming to support arts and culture organizations, assist artists in building their business or career, offer opportunities for learning and growth as an artistic organization or artist, and provide networking avenues for individuals and organizations.

Community Resources and Services: Information to Mesa County services, agencies, elected officials, and more.

Genealogy: Find both the library’s and the internet’s genealogy resources here, with links to local interests, research advice, and topical newsletters.

Legal Information: This guide explores legal forms, statutes, local and state resources, and legal texts to help those seeking legal assistance.

LGBTQ Resources: Resources and information for LGBTQ+ individuals, family members, and allies.

Technology Guide: Computer tutorials, internet safety resources, and technology guides.

…and more!

If you need help accessing these guides, feel free to visit any of our eight locations, where we’ll be happy to assist you.
