Author Ian Doescher to appear Mesa County Libraries Comic Con Saturday, Oct. 7

Ian Doescher, author of the brilliantly unique “William Shakespeare’s Star Wars” book series, will be a special guest at Mesa County Libraries Comic Con on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction.

Doescher will speak and sign his books during the day-long Comic Con, a celebration of comic books, comic arts, science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga, books, graphic novels, movies, and more. Mesa County Libraries Comic Con will include fan meetups, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, kids’ and teens’ activities, cosplay, a costume contest, and an exhibitor fair.

“William Shakespeare’s Star Wars” is Doescher’s creative and entertaining retelling of the popular film in Shakespeare’s iambic pentameter style. Published in 2013, the book was followed by “William Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back” and “William Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth Return.” Doescher’s latest book, due for release this October, is “William Shakespeare’s The Force Doth Awaken.”

Doescher lives in Portland, Ore., where he works for a marketing firm. He has a Bachelor of Arts in music from Yale University, a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, and a doctorate from Union Theological Seminary. More information about Doescher is available at iandoescher.com.
