Calling all creatives! If you are interested in sharing your artistic knowledge with the community through engaging programs, we would like to invite you to apply for the Mesa County Libraries Artist in Residence program. Artists 18 years of age and older, residing in Mesa County, CO, and with a valid library card may apply. Artists selected for this program are at all stages in their careers and work in one or more of the following media: drawing, painting, fiber arts, sculpture, photography, video, music, fiction and nonfiction writing, and poetry. Artists working in other mediums are also encouraged to apply and will be considered based on limitations of the studio.
The program will accept three artists in 2025 for terms of approximately 14 weeks each. Selected artists will work with library staff to provide at least three library programs during the residency and must occupy the studio at least six hours per week for community engagement.
Artists selected for residencies will receive a $2000 stipend from the Mesa County Libraries Foundation and access to designated studio space.
Submissions are accepted through August 26 for the 2025 Artist in Residence program! Full details about eligibility, application & requirements, and artist expectations are available on the Artist in Residence application page.
