Sippin’ for the Stacks: Garden Edition

Sippin' for the Stacks Event

The Mesa County Libraries Foundation will be hosting a springtime fundraising event, Sippin’ for the Stacks: Garden Edition, showcasing the library’s Discovery Garden and 970West Studio in downtown Grand Junction on Saturday, May 3rd, from 5 to 8 p.m.

This event will celebrate some of the unique resources available through Mesa County Libraries. Enjoy a spring evening outside with a selection of appetizers and desserts from Café Sol, local beverages from Fisher’s Liquor, music from Grand Junction bluegrass favorites Big Dominguez, and a variety of engaging activities, art, and learning opportunities.

Garden experts will be there to share information about crevice gardens, xeriscaping, and composting that guests can use in their home gardens. And, while enjoying snacks and drinks in the garden, attendees can participate in art activities including blackout poetry and making book sculptures from recycled books, along with an opportunity to contribute to a community collage that will be displayed at the library’s 125th anniversary next year. For those who would rather admire art instead of making it, a display of works from past Mesa County Libraries Artists in Residence will be hanging in the 970West Studio gallery.

Join your community in support of our libraries at Sippin’ for the Stacks: Garden Edition. Tickets are just $40 and available online or by phone at 970-683-2438. This event is for adults 21 and older only.
