Online Arts & Culture Forum for GJ City Council candidates set for March 16

An Arts and Culture Forum for Grand Junction City Council candidates is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, online via Zoom.

Studies show that arts and cultural organizations significantly benefit the local economy, and arts and culture continue to grow and improve the quality of life in Mesa County. The forum will explore various arts and culture issues with the eight candidates for city council. All candidates have been invited to attend the forum.

Online attendance for the forum is limited to 100 viewers, who will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Questions will be gathered from organizations sponsoring the forum. It will be moderated by Michelle Boisvenue-Fox, director of Mesa County Libraries.

For those unable to view the forum live, it will be recorded and will be available for later viewing on the Mesa County Libraries YouTube channel.

Hosts of the forum are the Avalon Theatre Foundation, the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, Museums of Western Colorado, the Grand Junction Creative Alliance, the Art Center, and Mesa County Libraries.

  1. I am an artists that started and ran Just A Bunch of Artist for 19 years, to have the Valleys artists share their visions with each other and the Valley. We started the Grand Valley Studio Tour with the backing of the Grand Junction Commission on Arts & Culture. and this studio Tour ran for 17 years,
    The arts expands the view point and perception of the viewers & artist- a win win situation.
